Success in this risky strategy either subtracts 26 points from the player’s score or adds 26 points to each opponent’s tally, dramatically shifting the game’s dynamics. How to Play Puzzleguys Hearts
1. Dealing: The game begins with a standard 52-card deck, shuffled and dealt so each of the four players receives 13 cards.
2. Passing Cards: Before the first trick, each player chooses three cards to pass to another player. The passing direction (left, right, across, or none) rotates each round.
3. Playing Tricks: The player holding the 2 of Clubs leads the first trick. Players must follow the suit led if possible; otherwise, they may play any card. The highest card in the led suit wins the trick, and the winner leads the next.
4. Restrictions: Hearts cannot be led until 'broken'—when a heart is discarded in a trick because a player couldn’t follow suit. Additionally, hearts and the Queen of Spades are barred from the first trick unless a player has no alternative.
5. Scoring: After all 13 tricks, players count penalty points from collected hearts (1 point each) and the Queen of Spades (13 points). The game ends when a player hits the agreed score, often 100, and the lowest score wins.
